Who We Are

LABUAN INVESTMENT BANKS ASSOCIATION (LIBA)

The Labuan Investment Banks Association (LIBA) established as a self-regulating body for the licensed Labuan Investment Banks (LIB), which are incorporated in the Federal Territory of Labuan, Malaysia and regulated by the Labuan Financial Services Authority (Labuan FSA).

At its inception, LIB were brought together under the Labuan Investment Bank Group (LIBG) on 8 July 2010, an initiative encouraged by the Labuan FSA. In response to the significant growth of LIB over the decade, LIBG was elevated and formalised into LIBA on 12 April 2023.

LIBA includes all investment banks registered under the Labuan Companies Act 1990, operating exclusively for investment banking under the Labuan Financial Services and Securities Act 2010.

Distinguished LIBA office bearers, with their extensive expertise and deep knowledge, are committed to combining their efforts to achieve our aspiring objectives. Together, we will strive to deliver exceptional value and robust support for all our members, ensuring the continued success and prominence of LIBA.

Objective of Labuan Investment Banks Association

Objectives of LIBA:

Promote Labuan: Establish Labuan as a premier International Business and Financial Centre.
Advocate for Members: Address common concerns and interests of members.
Disseminate Information: Share relevant information with members.
Liaise with Authorities: Communicate with relevant bodies on member-related matters.
Fundraising: Raise funds through subscriptions or other means to support LIBA’s objectives.
Protect Interest: Promote and protect the mutual interests of members.

Scope of Labuan Investment Banks Association

Scope of LIBA:

Evaluate Proposals: Assess industry-wide proposals.
Advise Authorities: Present committee views to relevant authorities.
Regulate Conduct: Oversee industry-wide practices.
Promote Labuan FSA: Engage in activities benefiting Labuan FSA and members.

Our Event

For the year 2024, the Labuan Financial Services Authority (Labuan FSA) has given the honour to the Labuan Investment Banks Association (LIBA) to be the Host of the Labuan IBFC Industry Dinner and Golf Tournament.

The Labuan IBFC Industry Dinner and Golf Tournament embodies an annual tradition, carefully crafted to unite Labuan IBFC's industry players in a jubilant celebration of their cumulative achievements. Beyond accolades, it serves as a cherished moment, where bonds are strengthened and memories are forged in the genuine spirit of camaraderie.
